Setting Goals and Setting Worries Aside

Mrs. Hall Reads Hector's Favorite Place

Hector's Favorite Place by Jo Rooks

Hector worries a lot. A worry is a repetitive thought that something bad might happen in the future. Worries can get in the way of us trying new things, having fun, and accomplishing goals.

In the story, Hector practices 2 strategies to help him overcome his worries and try to meet his goals:

1. Positive Self Talk - using positive words and phrases to encourage yourself

2. Visualization - imagining a positive outcome from our efforts

Try them out yourself!
